Fall Bucket List: 15 Things to Do With Friends this Fall

It is finally fall which means it’s time to get going on all the classic fall activities.

That feeling when you cross something off your bucket list is unmatched. Here are 15 things to add to your fall bucket list that you just have to do before winter.

See the Full Moon

October’s full moon is on the 9th, and November’s is on the 8th. Pick one or both of those dates and go see the moon.

It’ll probably be chilly so embrace it and take on all the cozy, fall vibes. Bring a bunch of blankets, pillows, and maybe a folding camping chair too. If you want to go full “Fall”, bring your favorite fall snacks and Halloween candy too.

Choose a spot somewhere on the ground, on a roof, or in the trunk of a car! Look up what time the moon rises beforehand so you can be there to watch it rise up into the sky.

Have a Fall-Themed Picnic

Find a nice place surrounded by colorful trees and lay your picnic blanket down on top of the fallen leaves. Bring all of your favorite fall foods.

Do a Corn Maze

A fall classic. Go get lost in a corn maze.

Get creative and have fun with it!

  • Make it a competition with your friends to see who can get out first
  • Have a photoshoot deep inside the maze
  • Dress up in Halloween costumes

Fall only comes around once a year and there’s no way to know how many you’ve got. So do the classic fall activities, have fun with it, and make some good memories.

Go to a Pumpkin Patch

Maybe it’s on the same day you guys do the corn maze, but make sure to stop by a pumpkin patch this fall. Go with your friends and pick out the best pumpkins you can find.

Whether you plan on carving them or leaving them whole to display on your front porch or around the house, it’s way more fun to run around a pumpkin patch with your friends getting hay stuck in your shoes, walking around the patch, and watching all your friends carry a giant pumpkin around then just picking one out at the store.

Go on a Hay Ride

Another fall classic that you just have to do.

Make Pumpkin Bread

Or pumpkin pie, banana bread, apple fritters, caramel apples, or whatever else you want.

Get together with your friends and head to the store to get all your ingredients and maybe some Halloween candy too. Choose whose kitchen you’re using, turn on some music, and get baking!

Bonus points if you make extra for your friends, family, or neighbors because you never

Hike Beneath the Fall Leaves

Do a bit of research to find the best hike to do for your abilities and wishes, and the best time frame to do it so you see all the fall leaves.

Go On a Scenic Drive to See the Fall Leaves

Same idea, without the exercise.

Do some research to find the best scenic drive for fall foliage near you, and the best time frame to go.

Pick a day and go drive it with your friends! Play some good music, stop to take photos on the way, and take plenty of photos and videos throughout the drive.

Go to a Fall Festival

Find a fall festival nearby and go! Fall Festivals are an amazing way to embrace all the fall vibes and do all the fall activies (with very little planning on your part).

Try apple bobbing, get your face painted, dress up in a costume, just do all the fall things!

Go Camping

Fall camping is much different than summer camping, and it is a whole lot of fun and a great experience.

Plan out a camping trip with your friends. All you need is one night so it shouldn’t be terribly hard to find a time that works for everyone, especially if you plan it out in advance. Do some research to find a good campsite nearby.

Have a Bonfire

On a scale from beach bonfire party to standing over the kitchen stove with everyone holding their hands out in front of the flame, there is always a way to sit around the fire with your friends.

Find a way to have a bonfire this fall. No matter how you do it, bonfires are a guarantee for a cozy night with good laughs and very good memories afterward.

Take a Road Trip

Even if it’s just a weekend, one-night stay, or a day trip, find a time to go on a road trip with your friends this fall.

With the weather cooling down and the leaves changing, now is the perfect time to visit the places that were stupid hot over the summer and see places in a new way.

Play in the Leaves

Just like when you were a kid, rake the leaves into a pile, and jump in it. See how monsterous you can make it and get creative.

Try it on a trampoline, make the pile at the bottom of a hill and run or roll into it, make it into a game and try to throw each other in.

Have a Fall Photo Shoot

You can do this both inside and outside.

For an inside fall photoshoot, think cute fall outfits, candles, subtle fall decorations, and maybe doing something like baking or taking the photos as you’re decorating for fall.

For an outside photoshoot, find a spot with beautiful fall foliage and maybe do it on a cloudy, foggy day. This would also be cute to take photos as you and your friends are doing something such as having a picnic, playing in the leaves, at the pumpkin patch, or just walking around downtown or somewhere in nature.
