50 Things to Add to Your Summer Bucket List

Summer is a great time to cross some things off your life-long bucket list and make a summer bucket list of its own. Summer means trying new things, repeating traditions or the things that just feel like summer, and making many, many new memories.

Creating a summer bucket list is a great way to come up with things to do, remind you to do the things and go to the places you want to this summer, and keep track of all the fun things you make happen.

Here are 50 things to add to your bucket list. Use all 50 or just take your favorites. Feel free to tweak them to suit your life better and use them as inspiration to come up with more bucket list items for your list.

1. Spend an hour outside every day
2. Visit a new state
3. Go night swimming
4. Fly on an airplane
5. Go backpacking
6. Camp with your friends
7. Reach out to an old friend
8. Go on a sunrise hike
9. And a sunset hike too
10. Buy something from the farmer’s market
11. Sleep in a hammock
12. Visit the biggest tourist attraction in your hometown
13. Jump off a rope swing into the water
14. Go down a water slide
15. Jump off a diving board
16. Spend the day at an amusement park
17. Slackline
18. Have a jell-o fight with your friends- make a ton of jello, go outside, and chuck it at each other. Come up with your own rules to make it a game or just throw it at each other because that’s fun too.
19. Mega slip and slide- put a tarp on a large hill and cover it with soap and water.
20. Go paddleboarding
21. Go canoeing but be sure to flip it at some point to spice things up

37. Make something you can wear- jewelry, sew clothes, tie-dye a shirt, modify clothes you bought secondhand, paint a pair of jeans or shoes, etc.

41. Grow something- some sort of fruit, vegetable, or flower
42. Cross something big off of your life-long bucket list like skydiving, parasailing, climbing a 14er, 43. visiting a new country, etc.
43. Spend an entire day, sunrise to sunset, in a swimsuit by the water
44. Sidewalk chalk
45. Go rock climbing
46. Find a new artist or song you love
47. Spend an entire day off of your phone or any technology
48. Find a field of wildflowers
49. Swim in a river or creek
50. Take about a million pictures and videos. Post whatever you want, and consider making a physical photo album too.

Remember, the summer of your dreams filled with memories, adventures, and exploring is entirely possible. You can create the kind of summer you will remember for the rest of your life, and it all starts with making a summer bucket list.
