10 Ways to Romanticize Your Life

What if you could take the life you live and turn it into a constant flow of happy moments without making any major changes, just small shifts?

Here are some ideas of little things you can do, little changes you can make, that are so easy but will add so much beauty to your life.

From turning basic everyday tasks into something that brings you happiness to ways to radiate confidence, keep reading for my tips on how to romanticize your life a little more.

Listen to Music at the Grocery Store

You can transform this everyday chore in a crowded public space into a beautiful little part of your reality simply by listening to music that lights you up while you’re there.

You can take some control of the emotions you feel and the mood of your environment simply with the genre of music.

The next time you get groceries, walk somewhere, shop for clothes, pick out books at the library, or do any other mundane task- try listening to music while you do it and see how you can make the moment a good one.

Do Your Homework Away from Your Desk

Just another version of transforming something ordinary into something that actually adds joy to your life.

When you have homework, to-do lists to make, emails to write, documents to read, or anything else along those lines- do it somewhere pretty and you will make a happy moment out of it.

Sit at a sweet little coffee shop or at a picnic table where the smell of the Earth keeps you grounded and the sky and the trees give you something beautiful to look at on your breaks.

Lay out a blanket and sit under the shade of a tree or drive to a lookout and do your work in the back of your car with the trunk open.

Have a picnic/study session with your friends on a blanket laid out in the grass, or enjoy the serenity of nature while doing your work by yourself in your backyard.

If you know you focus better at your desk, that’s okay and you can still romanticize that with a nice candle, cute lights, and keeping it organized and decorated in a way you love.

Get Your Food From Funky Places as Often as You Can

By funky places, I mean anything other than your regular trip to the grocery store. Buy produce from the farmer’s market, buy baked goods anytime you see a cute bakery, eat at food trucks often, find farms near you that let you pick your own fruit, and say yes when invited to dinner at someone’s home.

You have to buy food and eat no matter what. Once in a while, make a happy memory out of it.

Read More Books

Books can have the power to grow your perspectives of the world and explore ideas that help you realize your dreams.

By the end of a book, the author teaches you some sort of lesson that you can choose to either leave or take it with you in your own life. Reading about a character living out their fairytale fantasy just might help you see what dreams you want to live out in this lifetime.

Read nonfiction books about things you know you love and even the things you think you might be interested in. Read fiction, fairytales, fantasies, and books you never even thought of picking up, you just might love them.

Just like doing your homework away from your desk, you can make reading even more of a lovely moment by doing it outside somewhere pretty.

Decorate Your Space

Decorate and set up the space you live in so that it feels safe, drives your creativity, and lets you express yourself.

Fill your space with the colors that feel right and decorations and posters that express your interests. Display your artwork to remind yourself how powerful your creative side is and hang photos of your friends so you can remember how much love there is and how many beautiful people are in your life.

Make your living space a reflection of your mind and the way you see the world around you.

Take More Photos and Videos

Take more photos and videos so you can look back on beautiful, happy things.

Take more photos and videos of moments in your everyday life. Moments with your friends, things you find really pretty, and random things that you see every day but one day you won’t and you don’t want to forget what they look like.

Who knows? A random picture you snap one day could end up being the picture you show when your grandkids ask what you looked like when you were young, a photo you hang up in your future home, or a photo that you, or someone else, will treasure forever.

Turn them into art too by printing them out and displaying them in your home, editing your videos into a montage that makes your life feel like a movie, or editing your photos to make them look like film or in another way that you find beautiful. These are your memories, so turn them into something that you find beautiful.

Make the People You Love Happy

As often as you can, find ways to make the people in your life happy. Buy them flowers and remind them how much you love them. Write letters and take photos of them just because you think they look beautiful and tell them that often.

Small acts of love and kindness can make an extraordinarily positive impact on someone’s day, and that just makes the whole world more beautiful.

Create More Often

Let the world see the creative side of your mind. Or even if you create art just for you and no one else sees it, that is just as wonderful. It’s a chance to turn your dreams, emotions, and views of the world into a physical thing you can hold in your hands.

Paint, draw, and color in coloring books. Make your own clothes- all the way from scratch or modify ones that exist by upcycling second-hand clothes or painting flowers on a pair of jeans. Crochet, knit, and build things with your hands. Scrapbook and hang your photos in collages or frames- but paint those too and make them your own.

However you choose to create and express your creativity, do that more often and just see how beautiful life gets.

Do Things For the Sole Purpose of Your Happiness

To make your life beautiful, do more things simply because they make you happy.

Take the scenic route, even though it will take a little longer to get home. Have a picnic instead of eating at your kitchen table. Watch the sunset, go on bike rides just for fun, and watch your favorite shows even though you’ve seen them 7 times already.

In a world full of stress and too many things you have to do, find a little time to do things that make you happy.

Feel Beautiful

You know that feeling of radiating confidence after getting your hair done or wearing a brand new outfit?

Find that confidence more often. It’s good for you and it makes the whole world feel lighter and more beautiful.

You don’t need to consistently make massive changes to find that confidence, just find little ways to remind yourself that you are stunning.

Wear clothes that make you feel good. Have some fun piecing together outfits and let your style express you. Have photoshoots that remind you just how pretty you are and just tell yourself that you’re gorgeous more often.

Don’t set yourself up to feel bad. Throw out the clothes (donate please) that sit in your closet for the sole purpose of making you feel bad about your body and appearance and don’t place your mirror in the corner of your room with the bad lighting- that will do nothing but make you feel like crap.

You are beautiful. Your confidence is there somewhere, you just need to find it more often and let it radiate.

This life is as beautiful as you make it, so let’s make it a work of art. Thank you for reading. I love you.
